After having been away on vacation and many proceedings at Court it was time again to find the boots and the riffle and march towards the drums on the battlefield.
The last game of the year was going to be a treat for me against Helge Macintyre, who, after my humble opinion, is one the best FOW players in Denmark, and also were in charge of the ETC Team Denmark.
But why am I making a fuzz about this. Well the point will clearer during this AAR 🙂
The Mission : Hold the Line
In this game against I became familiar with the one term: Ambush with RSO Veteran Tank Hunters
Turn 1 – 3:
The Russians advanced quickly with their many tanks.
My two Sicherungplatoons came to term with breakthrough guns and were annihilated within these turns.
I was lucky to get my Stuka trough and bailing a platoon commander.
Turn 4-6:
Suddenly and without any sound I popped my RSO Veteran Tank Hunters and from hideout it took out
the next turns 6 tanks and forcing the remaining tanks to withdraw.
The platoon then received the wrath of the Russian IS-2’s and was almost annihilated but one brave team survived and continued to pour reign of fire against the Russian tanks.
I received my reinforcements and amongst them a King Tiger which drove towards the contested objective.
It came close to destruction form both SU-122 and IS-2’s but It survived and with it the chance of German victory.
Turn 7-9:
The battle waved and the outcome was not questionable after the survival of the German King Tiger, and luckily with an attack from Pak36 and King Tiger the SU-122′ all bailed, and were a target for an improvise assualt of the remaining Sicherungsplatoon.
The Russian General had to take a test and failed.
A great victory for the Das Reich in the last battle of the year.
In turn 7 the Russian player was forced to take a platoon test and +4 save to continue the battle. The result was recorded by a war reporter showing the cheers of the Russian general.
But a turn later the battle ended.
